Week 16 - Serve With Your Heart

This week was great!

Tuesday we did a lot of contacting again.  Our appointment canceled so we had extra time to call people and contact.  Their were flower hearts and other displays all over the city for Valentine's day. It's called Alla Hjartans Dag in Sweden which translates to "All Hearts' Day".

Wednesday was interesting.  We had splits with the Halmstad Elders so I went with Elder Groberg who actually trained in my area.  We ran into some interesting people.  One guy tried to convince us that Islam was right, there was another guy who was really high... that was interesting...  We had some good meetings with some of the people in the ward though so that was good.

Thursday we had district meeting and had a good discussion of how to help people with baptismal dates follow through. Afterwards we had Indian food for lunch which was really good.  Äldste Murtonen and I then went about 40 minutes away to Höganäs for a lesson.  It was a Persian Lady and we used a translator but the speaker in our phone doesn't work and the translator didn't have a lot of time so we ended up giving our potential investigator the phone.  The translator gave her some basics on Christianity and then we scheduled a return appointment because she was still interested in learning more.  We have a new Investigator!  I remember just sitting there and praying that it would go well because I didn't know what else to do and just feeling the Spirit.  We did everything that we could do and we just had to leave it to the Lord.  It was a really cool experience.  We then also had a member meal that night so it was a really good day.

Friday we went and visited a member for lunch and then met a potential investigator.  We aren't sure how interested he is but we will see what we can do.  We have started to get really busy so that is nice.

Saturday we had another member lunch and then we went to go meet with a less active.  We didn't have a lot of time but we walked in and it turns out he had a friend staying with him!  What was going to be a lesson to a member ended up being a member present lesson.  It was awesome!  We are going to try to meet with them this week again.  The guy even took a Book of Mormon.  We only had like 15 minutes to teach though because we had to catch a train to Malmö for stake conference.  We had a really good meeting and then all the missionaries went out for kebab since none of us had had dinner.  We then went back home for the night.

Sunday we had the other half of stake conference.  We had to take the train again but they were working on the tracks between Lund and Malmö so we had to take a bus.  The Lund station was madness with everyone trying to catch the buses.  We still made it in time though.  Sister Beckstrand, our mission president's wife, gave a really good talk on serving with a willing heart.  God asks us to serve not only with our might and strength but also our heart and mind. (D&C 59:5)  After Stake Conference we went back home.  We have been so busy that we had yet to actually do weekly planning.

Today was P-day and we went to this mansion on the outskirts of Helsingborg with the Halmstad Elders.  It was a lot of fun and really pretty.

The pictures are from the mansion, apparently dragons are popular in the playground.
